Please see below for links to the three papers that make up the workshop panel on 29th May. The workshop panel enables students in the more advanced stages of their PhD to receive more in depth feedback on their research than would normally be possible in a standard ten minute Q&A.
Conference attendees read the papers in advance, so as to contribute to a c.25 minute discussion about each paper. The three authors will each be able to give a short preamble to frame the discussion.
Hannah Templeton (KCL): Musical Relationships on Canvas: Gainsborough’s Portraits of Bach, Abel and Jackson
Gina Bombola (UNC-CH): Scandalous Sight, Sublime Sound: Opera and Film Censorship in I Dream Too Much (1935)
[Please also watch the following clip, discussed in Gina’s paper.]
Jacob Olley (KCL): Music, Enlightenment and Global History: The View from Istanbul (via Venice)
